Doylestown Arts Festival in Doylestown, PA |
More than 170 artists, five music stages, live demonstrations, and two full days of creativity return September 12–13. |

Doylestown Arts Festival is set to return with fresh energy and an unmistakable burst of creativity right in the heart of downtown Doylestown this September 12 and 13.
Every year, this beloved downtown street festival transforms the borough’s charming streets into a sprawling outdoor art market—with cars cleared away, and local flair on full display.
This year’s event marks a major milestone: thirty-five years since the town’s first arts celebration captured the community’s imagination!
More than 170 juried artists are slated to showcase an exciting array of painting, ceramics, jewelry, glass, woodwork, textiles, and mixed media—each booth offering something distinctively handmade and high in quality.
Organizers say the Doylestown Arts Festival isn’t just about viewing or buying art.
Strolling visitors often find themselves drawn into live demonstrations: potters working wheels right on the street, glassblowers shaping works before your eyes, and muralists transforming blank panels as the weekend unfolds.
The interactive energy is very much the draw—locals love watching both seasoned pros and emerging talents bring new visions to life.
Music lovers have every reason to celebrate as well.
Five live music stages will be peppered across downtown, promising two days of diverse performances.
According to recent festival updates, genres will stretch from rock and indie to folk, jazz, and family-friendly acts—meaning there’s likely something for anyone who enjoys a tune with their stroll.
Doylestown’s institutions will also help enliven the festival atmosphere, with the newly minted BucksArts organization making its public debut and other local staples hosting hands-on art activities for all ages.
Recent changes on State and Main Streets—like the opening of several new independent cafés and expanded outdoor patios—bring an extra vibrancy, giving festivalgoers plenty of options to linger and soak in the scene.
This is a weekend designed for everyone: browsers, buyers, music fans, families with kids, and people who simply want to savor Doylestown’s unique sense of place.
Organizers emphasize the festival runs rain or shine, and the event remains completely free—a rare opportunity for anyone to experience the very best of Bucks County's creative spirit.
Whether you’re seeking that perfect piece for your home or just hoping to be surprised by live art and local bands, the Doylestown Arts Festival invites you to discover why this downtown street festival endures as a community highlight, year after year. |

September 12 and 13 is on my calendar. See everyone there.
Walked past a glassblower last year and genuinely could not move for 15 minutes. That stuff is hypnotic.
170 artists is more than previous years if I remember right. Festival keeps growing which is great to see.
PhilBucksI think it was around 150 a couple years back so yeah it does seem like it keeps adding more. Good sign that artists actually want to be here.
The pottery wheel demos right on the street get a crowd every time. Kids especially love it.
I moved away from Doylestown three years ago and I still make the trip back for this every September. Says a lot about what the festival means.
That kind of loyalty says everything about what the Doylestown Arts Festival means to the community, welcome back, even if just for the weekend!
Hoping the folk acts perform earlier in the day. Last time the schedule had everything I wanted at the same time on different stages.
The streets without cars is honestly my favorite version of downtown. Wish it could be like that more often.
Yvonne B.Seriously. Even just walking from the parking garage feels different when the street is closed off. The whole vibe changes completely.
35 years and still free. That is remarkable for an event this size. Kudos to whoever keeps making that work.
Every year I say I'm just browsing and every year I spend way too much money on handmade jewelry. Zero regrets.
Folk and jazz on the same weekend as rock and indie? Genuinely something for everyone. No excuse not to show up.
Kevin O.My wife likes the folk stuff and I'm more of a rock guy so this works out perfectly for us. We just split up for a bit and meet back for lunch.
The muralists painting live panels is something people sleep on. Stopped to watch one for like 20 minutes last year and it was mesmerizing.
The live muralists are genuinely one of the festival's most underrated draws, there's something uniquely captivating about watching a large-scale work evolve in real time over two full days.
Usually park at the courthouse lot and walk down. Works fine both days.
Great tip for first-timers, with cars cleared from the festival streets, a short walk from a nearby lot is really the smoothest way to arrive and start exploring!
Anyone know if parking on Clinton Street is open during the festival or is that blocked off too?
Taking my kids for the first time this year. Good to know there are family friendly acts on the music stages too.
You're in for a wonderful first family outing, between the live music, hands-on art activities, and live demonstrations, there's so much for kids to discover and enjoy all weekend long.
Rain or shine policy is great in theory but that Saturday in 2022 was brutal. Artists deserve a lot of credit for sticking it out.
Those artists truly are the backbone of the festival, and their commitment, come rain or shine, is exactly the spirit that's kept this event going strong for 35 years!
I bought a ceramic bowl from a vendor here two years ago and use it every single day. Worth every penny.
BucksArts making their public debut here is a big deal. Glad to see new arts organizations getting a real platform.
Dave KowalskiDo you know much about them? I saw the name mentioned but couldn't find a lot of info on what they actually do.
Yes Raj, juried means they apply and get selected by a panel. The quality at this festival is genuinely good compared to other street fairs.
170 juried artists is impressive. Juried means someone actually vetted the quality right? Not just anyone with a folding table?
The new cafes on State Street are going to be packed. Get there early if you want a seat outside.
carol_m87Good tip. That corner spot on State fills up fast even on a regular weekend. Festival weekend it'll be gone by 10am probably.
My wife dragged me the first time like 10 years ago and now I'm the one reminding her every August. Great event.
Mike D.Same thing happened with me and my dad. He was skeptical the first time and now he starts asking about it in July every year.
Five music stages sounds like a lot but last year the sound from two of them kind of blended together on Main Street. Hope they spaced them out better this time.
That's really useful feedback, and we hope organizers take spacing seriously this year given five stages across downtown, the goal is immersive, not overwhelming!
Paula HendricksThat was definitely a problem last year around the intersection near the pharmacy. Hoping they read the feedback because it got a little chaotic sound-wise.
free admission still? That alone makes it worth going
I go every single year and the glassblowing demo is always my favorite part. Something about watching it happen live that never gets old.
The glassblowing demo is such a crowd magnet for exactly that reason, watching a finished piece emerge from molten glass right before your eyes never loses its sense of wonder.
35 years is huge. This festival has been around longer than some of us have been alive lol
Thirty-five years really is a remarkable milestone, and we love that the festival has become a living tradition that spans generations of Doylestown residents and visitors alike.
Jamie R.Right? I was born in 1991 so this thing literally predates me. Wild to think about.
