Trivia Question❓

Doylestown, Pennsylvania sits in Bucks County, which is famous for its scenic fall foliage drives along a historic canal towpath that runs parallel to the Delaware River — but what is the official name of the state park that preserves this beloved 60-mile stretch of canal, towpath, and surrounding autumn landscape?

Answer at the bottom of the newsletter

Warm Halloween weekend, peak foliage, and a quiet but cozy start to November in Bucks County

🌤️ The week at a glance: Dry and unusually warm into Halloween. Early Philadelphia-area forecasts have highs in the low-to-upper 70s Thu–Sat and evenings in the 50s and low 60s  🎃

🍂 Bucks County foliage is "Approaching Peak."

Clocks fall back at 2 a.m. Sunday, Nov 1.

CB schools have an early dismissal Friday and no school Tuesday, Nov 3.

📚 Nov 1–4 is thin on events; the weeknight picks are mostly the Bookshop, the County Theater, and the Michener. 🎬🖼️

90 minutes with a short intermission is honestly the perfect length for a play. You're home by 10.

Shelley Duvall deserves way more credit for her performance in this. Everyone talks about Nicholson but she was incredible.

Daylight saving time ends at 2 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 1, so set clocks back an hour Saturday night.

Starting Sunday, sunset comes a little before 5 p.m., so drivers should watch for walkers and dog owners out after dark.

It's also a good weekend to test smoke and carbon monoxide alarms and check outdoor light timers.

Clocks spring forward again March 14, 2027.

The aging 1776 Shopping Center at 1776 S. Easton Road, at Route 611 and Edison Road in Doylestown Township, will become Captain Clean Car Wash, an express wash planned by local businessman Jim Lonergan.

First, the Doylestown Fire Company will use the old building for live training before it is demolished.

The plan calls for a 5,000-square-foot wash tunnel, vacuums and water recycling.

Demolition and groundbreaking dates are expected in the coming weeks.

Doylestown Insider: The Free Parking Lot Locals Walk Right Past

Most people circle the blocks around the Doylestown borough center hunting for street spots, but the municipal parking lot tucked behind the courthouse on Broad Street regularly sits half-empty — even on busy weekend afternoons. It offers a generous buffer of free time before any fee kicks in, making it perfect for a leisurely lunch, a gallery visit, or a full afternoon of errands without the clock-watching anxiety. Next time you head downtown, skip the street and aim straight for that lot first.
