If downtown traffic has felt a little tangled lately, here's why, and it isn't over yet.

PECO road construction continues on State Street and Main Street in Doylestown Borough through Friday, Dec. 4.

Crews close one section at a time, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and again overnight from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.

The schedule depends on the weather, so it can shift.

Here are the posted detours.

For State Street between Clinton and Hamilton, use Court and Hamilton.

For State Street between Hamilton and Main, use Clinton, Ashland and Main.

For Main Street between State and Court, southbound drivers use Court, Clinton and Oakland, and northbound drivers use Ashland, Clinton and Court.

For other sections, follow the detour signs.

The evening closures are the ones most likely to catch you, right when people head downtown for dinner or a movie.

Give yourself a few extra minutes, and consider parking a block or two away and walking in.

Took me 20 minutes to get through downtown last Tuesday. Normally a 5 minute drive.
