Here's one of the best free things to do in town this month.

On Sunday, Nov. 8, the Michener Art Museum opens its doors at no charge from noon to 5 p.m. for Free Second Sunday.

The museum offers free admission on the second Sunday of every month, and this is a great month to take advantage of it.

Three exhibitions are on view right now.

The Crossing: Picturing the American Revolution looks at how artists have imagined the Revolution, including a toy-brick artwork by Ai Weiwei.

It runs through Jan. 10, so don't wait too long if it's still on your list.

Abstractions of Nature explores the quarries and industry that show up in Pennsylvania Impressionist paintings.

And Barbara Moon Boertzel: Listening to Time, which opened in late October, is the newest show in the building.

It's a lot of art for a free afternoon.

Free Second Sundays usually include family programming, too, though this month's family craft session is already full.

The museum is at 138 S. Pine St., in the stone walls of the old Bucks County jail.

Sunday looks sunny and crisp, so make a downtown afternoon of it with a walk and a coffee before or after.

free is great but parking can be a headache on sundays. Anyone know the easiest spot nearby?

went to see the Pennsylvania Impressionists exhibit a few weeks ago and it was beautiful. Quarry scenes are surprisingly moving.

the building itself is worth the visit. Being inside an old jail is such a cool vibe.

tom_bucksSeriously. Three shows plus it's supposed to be a nice day out. Grab a coffee on Main Street after and it's a pretty perfect afternoon.
